HELPFUL HINTS

1. Ask the customer under what light the shoes will be worn, such as daylight, inside light, or night-light. Test the color swatch in the correct light before dyeing.
2. Tell the customer that the dyes are not waterproof and will come off if they get wet.
3. Examine both shoes for soil or glue before dyeing.
4. UL on the dye chart refers to Universal Lightener.
5. TB on the dye chart refers to Toning Black.
6. Always test on a sample swatch and allow to dry before dyeing shoes.
7. Keep hands, and or gloves clean and free from dye when dyeing shoes. This is to prevent contamination from hands or gloves onto the shoe.
8. When dyeing the shoe, hold the shoe upside down so that the sole of the shoe faces up. This will keep the sole and inside of the shoe clean.
9. When applying the dye, stop a small distance from the sole. The dye will flow into the sole by itself.
10. Always start dyeing at the back seam, working the dye around the shoe until you get back to the seam from the other direction. Never apply dye from the middle of the shoe. This will prevent streaking.
11. Do not allow the fabric of the shoes to be touched by anything while drying.
12. Wrap the shoes in tissue paper when dry before putting into plastic bags.
13. Always keep bottles tightly closed or capped after using dye.
14. Always keep bottles and spouts clean.
